Is the amount of collection fees regulated by law?

Strictly speaking, the law does not provide for any upper limit for collection costs at present. However, if a creditor commissions a collection company, this creditor can only pass on costs to the consumer in the amount, in which these would be incurred, if the creditor had commissioned a lawyer to act on his behalf. The lawyers´ fees are established in the German Lawyers´ Remuneration Act (RVG).   
Therefore, we charge compensation based on RVG and the pretaining remuneration table for our collection services.
